Audacity has a lot going for it. Using free software is great especially when it is a quality tool that doesn't lead you into additional purchases. I found that audacity is easy to use and has simple features. I recall using this program in a guitar class that I taught. I would have students record themselves playing. Before I knew it they would have multiple tracks with effects built in. The program allowed them to bring their music to a different medium and gave them an opportunity to publish a composition.

The training was a nice addition to follow. I just got into listening to podcasts so it was interesting to see how this program could be used to develop one. The big take away that I gained from the training was how to use compression to adjust volume. I plan on recording my children telling a story and foresee this being a very useful tool. I think using audacity could be used in a classroom to record and create reader theater with students.

Olver and out.

  2. I did something like a reader theatre in my class last year at Wild Rose. I had students read Robert Munsch books for the Kindergarteners to follow along. There are so many sweet things people can do with technology and it is getting more and more accessible.

    badass.
